The chosen topic for my blog will be the professor’s suggested topic, “About Me.” Initially, I thought I would center my blog around my passion for cooking, however due to the professor’s insight that I might be able to use this blog as a type of portfolio in the future directed me toward the more general topic of “myself”, and I am sure at some point I might be able to illustrate my passion for cooking in an assignment throughout the duration of the course.

That being said, there are several different aspects I hope to use as inspiration for projects to be completed this summer. My aforementioned passion for cooking is something I would love to share as it really is a part of who I am, along with my passion for living a healthy and active lifestyle. Other topics about myself that I hope to chronicle are my experiences with my summer job at Nordstrom as well as my venture with Seafair, with whom I hope to compete for the title of Miss Seafair beginning in early June.

Effectively and professionally recording and chronicling my passions and special experiences from this summer could be a vital tool for my future as a Murrow graduate, and as mentioned earlier, one of the main reasons I selected “About Me” as the topic for my blog. The first video viewed in the professor’s initial blog post conveyed the current and projected use of technology in information sharing. I plan to strategically use assignments to present myself to potential future employers and collaborators. I feel that having a portfolio that illustrates who I am and what I’ve experienced, in addition to presenting said information in a deliberate and professional manner, could give an advantage and competitive edge when it comes time to seek jobs upon completing my education in May 2013.
