Senior Year

It’s been forever since I’ve posted – so much news.

I’ve returned to Washington State University, where I am completing my senior year. In May, I will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication from The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication. My emphasis is in Strategic Communication (previously known as Public Relations). After graduation, I intend to stay with WSU and complete a Master’s Degree in Sport Management (event, PR – specific to the sport industry).

Seafair ended for me on July 28th, 2012. It was such a fun and amazing experience, and I am so grateful for what I learned and the sweet girls I met. I told myself through the whole program – I want to get 1st place, or no title at all (so that I’d be elegible to compete again in 2014). And I got — nothing! So it was bittersweet, but I truly believe everything happens for a reason and I am grateful that the chance awaits me again in 2014 if I choose to do so.

Anyways – I am settling back to life in Pullman for one more school year. I live in a house with 6 other girls, most of whom are DG’s (Delta Gamma members). They are a fun bunch of girls and they are pretty fun to watch. I will be 21 in about two weeks – so they are somewhat younger than me. However, I am still really looking forward to the adventures I will have with them this year.

I’ve decided to attempt to lose my last round of “serious” weight. I began my weight loss journey in the Spring of 2011. I have about 35 pounds until I am at my “goal” weight. I decided to return to a diet that helped me shed a good 15 pounds in the beginning – the Dukan diet. It was hard for me, which led me to switch to Weight Watchers. However, I am a lot more experienced and creative in my cooking since I last tried it, so I think I could find success this time around 🙂

Be sure to look for updates and recipes with me on the final leg of my weight loss journey, as well as my last year of college.
