Whole Wheat Waffles (so yummy!)
I made a single serving waffle recipe to help curb how many servings of something I have. This one makes about 4 waffles, if you use a generous 1/4 cup amount for each waffle in the griddle. Any suggestions welcome. Bon appetit!
Before you begin, you’ll need the following ingredients:
1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1 tablespoon stevia (or 2 tablespoons sugar)
1/2 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk (I used 1%)
2 tablespoons butter (melted)
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
I actually got some LOCAL, fresh whole wheat pastry flour from a small town right outside of Pullman called Colfax from a place called Joseph’s Grainery. Love supporting local farms and businesses, not to mention it’s so much healthier than the processed stuff!
Mix up all the ingredients, and 1/4 cup into each space in your waffle maker. Relax for about two minutes and pop open the waffle maker and VIOLA! Fresh whole wheat waffles. I had mine with bacon (of course!)
